The 1940s post

The blouses in the 40s – apart from the ubiquitous choli – reflect wartime fashions in the West and have touches like scalloped neck lines, trims, collars and the like. Though most omit the strong shoulders.

Nargis – whose wardrobe in Andaz is quite lovely – has a jewelled clasp/fastener at the neck while Noor Jehan in Anmol Ghadi has a neck bow (it has to be excused because it is Noor Jehan!).
